Lisa Frey, Ph.D.
As a psychologist with many years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as teaching and consulting experience, I am aware of the importance of counseling that emerges from what we know is effective. A significant portion of that evidence points to the value of an authentic, empathic, and engaged relationship between the client and counselor. I consider this relationship to be the foundation from which change, and relational and personal growth and empowerment, develop. We are each a combination of intersecting identities, including identities based on gender, ethnicity and race, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, and more. These identities shape who we are, our counseling goals, and how we approach the therapeutic journey. Thus, you can expect me to work in partnership with you to find the most helpful approach to healing and change. It is an honor when individuals allow me to be part of their journey.
